Castiblanco de los Arroyos – El Real de la Jara 46.4km

EAT – RIDE – EAT- SHOWER – CLOTHES WASH – SIESTA – EAT – SLEEP

After a restless night due to the snoring pilgrims, we mounted our bikes and bid farewell to Camino Kymmy. She had to cover a distance of 100km to reach Zafra, where she could take some time off to heal from her injuries. You can see Camino Kymmy waving from the veranda. Mum nearly cried to leave Kymmy behind.

Today’s journey was a challenging one, with steep mountain climbs that alternated with descents. We covered a total of 46.4km, going up and down repeatedly.

Luckily, I had saved a muffin from breakfast that served as a delicious snack when we stopped at the National Park gate.

By lunchtime, we had reached Jara and searched for a smaller place to stay to avoid sharing a room with snorers again.

After a quick shower, I was starving and nibbled up bread rolls with salad. After everyone showered, I was then laundry time. Then, it was time to rest. Despite insisting that I wasn’t tired, my mum gave me that look so I closed my eyes. I know she would snap a picture of me sleeping for our blog, as yesterday I told her I wasn’t have a siesta, I just had my eyes close!
