Toledo is a city in Spain sitting high up on a hill. It is on a river that runs all the way from Spain to Lisbon in Portugal. The city is surrounded by a wall it was an old fort. It is known as the city of 3 cultures, Jews, Christians and Muslims.
In the city there was Synagogue, mosques that are now churches and cathedrals. We visited the Toledo Cathedral. It is a gothic design.
We went to the outside of the Monastery San Juan. There was chains on the outside of the walls. These were used to chain up prisoners during the war.
Toledo has had a long history of making bladed weapons and metal works.
