Orange Trees

Orange trees are found in many garden in Paris. Penny told me that they are planted in these large planter boxes . They were all painted green. The reason they were not planted in the ground was that they were all moved inside before winter each year.  Penny said each planted box was numbered. This is so they go back to the same position in summer time.

When we were at Luxembourg Gardens we saw a man picking up the planter boxes with a fork-lift. The orange trees were then stored in an Orangery, a large building, similar to a greenhouse.
