Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail

After finishing another one of mum’s so called short flat tracks out of Bright, we headed to Warburton. The best part of the day was driving through the beautiful Yarra Ranges National Park. The mountain ash trees were so TALL!

Tuesday morning after breakie we were loaded up for another day of riding. Second breakfast today was at the Lilydale Smoke House. I didn’t think dad was ever going to leave. Dad said, “This is the BEST bacon I’ve ever had!” And my dad knows his bacon!

Dad started the ride from Lilydale and we started after the first big hill. We rode about 30km of the rail trail it was easy riding along a good dirt track and some parts bitumen.

We finished the ride in Warburton at the Cog Cafe!

Paul and dad went back to pick up the other car. In the meantime I took Penny, Grace and mum on a SCENIC ride along the Yarra River oops there was tree roots, boulders, steps, swing bridge crossings all along the bumpy dirt track. This meant pushing our bikes more than riding but I thought it was so much fun!

When finishing this SCENIC ride the safest place for me was in the Yarra River. I knew mum and Penny wouldn’t come into the cold water to strangle me!

But eventually I needed to come out of the water!
