It’s raining it’s pouring and Paul is not longer snoring! Off for the day leaving from Ranfurly Hotel in drizzly rain heading to Hyde.
Riding along I could see a lamb that had escaped their paddock. I pulled up on my bike and started running after the lamb. I finally caught it and mum took a photo. I then popped the lamb over the fence it ran back to its mother.
We arrived at Waitpea Hotel and it was time for a pie. Dad’s pie had a lamb shank bone sticking out of it.
The rain became heavier and we still had 20km from here to our next cabin.
The track was very wet and the clay was sticky making it a tough ride. We all stopped a a little shelter, Grace and I had a few tears. Mum found a packet of tim tams … mum said tim tams fix everything! Then it was sleeting brrrrrrr …. I was now frozen stiff!
Off we rode as fast as we could to the next stop was the tunnel. Mum and I waited here for the others. The rain didn’t stop, I hope my uncle and aunty’s place would get rain as they are in drought.
We made it to the cottage and the heater was on …. it was heaven.
We showered and jumped into warm clothes! Penny hung all our wet clothes in the bathroom hoping they would be dry for tomorrow! I’d love dry joggers for the morning!
